Intestinal amoebiasis, trichomoniasis, giardiasis, gingivitis, empyema, Balantidium infections and other anaerobic bacterial infections.

Brown discoloration of urine commonly observed is due to pigmented active metabolite of Metronidazole and of no clinical importance. Avoid use in pregnancy. Higher doses may cause neurological distribution.
